Do work that sustains you.

Clinical consultation and supervision to support your growth.

You’ve got a solid foundation, now you’re ready to grow.

You’ve finally made it out of school and have realized there’s still more learning to do. You’re enjoying connecting with clients, but aren’t always sure how to make sense of what’s going on for them or how to best support them. You find yourself creating to-read lists and looking for the next training that’s going to help you finally figure it out. Sometimes you notice challenging emotions coming up for you in session in response to your client or what they’re sharing and aren’t sure what to do with them - so you just try to push it down and move along.

I support counsellors to deepen their practice and be curious about the places they get stuck. These tricky places are where we can do some of our best learning and growth. Slowing down and integrating the reading and training you’ve done allows you to more fully develop the clinical intuition and roadmap you need to feel confident in your work. Your inner experience is also important information, and can be a support to your practice, rather than a problem to be fixed. You already have the skills - now get the support to fine-tune them so you can show up for clients in a way that’s more grounded and authentic.

Together, we can work through the challenges and self-doubt (which inevitably come up for us all sometimes), and further develop the skills you already have. Supervision can help you feel more confident and grounded in your practice, and find satisfaction and enjoyment in your work.

Together, we can work through:

  • places where you feel stuck or confused

  • emotions that are triggered in your work

  • ethical decision making

  • challenges in your workplace or private practice

  • your own self-care and well-being

This work can be tough. You don’t have to do it alone.

About me as a supervisor

My approach is about offering you the safety and compassion you need to feel supported, along with gentle accountability and tangible skills to help you grow. I work to humanize the counselling experience and help you build shame resilience and curiosity along with your skills.  When it’s helpful I’ll share some of my own experiences (and challenges!) doing this work.  I don’t take on an expert stance or believe that I have all the answers - my approach is not about making you into a clinical carbon-copy of me and how I practice, but rather helping you find and develop your unique way of being in therapy.

I have post-grad training in clinical supervision and use the Seven-Eyed Seeing Model to support supervisees in their work. My therapy practice has focused on supporting individuals who have experienced trauma or challenges in their families and relationships. My post-grad training has been primarily in experiential therapies that focus on the here and now - I have training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion. My work is also influenced by intersectional feminist and attachment theory. Just like counselling depends so much on finding the right fit, it’s important to find a supervisor who aligns with your values and approach to therapy. If you’d like to know more about my approach to counselling and experience, you can read more about me here.

“Cultivating the capacity to accept and be with ourselves - as we are, not how we think we should be - is one of the most important steps we can take toward our ability to sustain in life.”
